As a parent and an educator, I know how intimidating helping your child to learn can be. Before I decided to step into the classroom, I felt clueless as to how to help my children with their homework. Knowing how to do something and teaching someone else how to do it are two very different things.
In this blog post, we will explore the reasons why choosing Bespoke Literacy for reading intervention is a partnership, not just outsourcing.

Understanding the Need for Personalized Reading Intervention
The Challenge of Standardized Approaches
It doesn't take someone with classroom experience to know that having a standardized approach to learning is not what is best for all learners. There were times in the first couple years of my teaching that I would write a half dozen or more lesson plans for each day. That is, I would modify my original lesson plan - meant for kids who were on grade level and learned in typical ways - to match the various learner needs in each of my classes: my children with dyslexia, IEPs, ADHD/ADD, behavioral needs, those who were significantly behind in decoding (reading words on the page), etc.
As you can imagine, this was unsustainable for a classroom teacher. Which leads me to my point: seeking help from an outside resource, such as Bespoke Literacy, can supplement what your child may be missing in school. The simple fact is, we teachers need parents to partner with us and experts to close the gap.
The Importance of Individualized Support
Whether your child is in homeschool or is in the public school system, they need tailor made instruction. When they are given what they need and in an environment that fosters their personal growth, they will blossom. I’ve worked with students facing retention who turned their scores around and are now proudly moving on to the next grade! I have witnessed substantial growth in kiddos - whom I have taught in small group settings - who have quadrupled their oral reading fluency (how many words they can correctly read aloud in one minute). I'll post at a later date on how to measure this and where to find free resources.
The Role of Bespoke Literacy
Bespoke Literacy recognizes that each child is unique. By offering customized reading intervention plans, every learner and parent gains the tools they need to thrive. This approach not only enhances reading skills but also boosts confidence and motivation for the whole team.
